Downtown Democrats to Hear "Why Party Must Change"
WHAT:
A presentation entitled "Why Democrats Must Change!” by Colorado Democratic Leadership Council President Jim Gibson to the Downtown Democratic Forum, which meets the second Friday of each month.  
WHO:
Gibson helped organize the Colorado DLC in 1991, officially announced at a press conference with then-DLC Chairman and Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton and national DLC President Al From.  He has published commentaries in the DLC’s national magazine - The New Democrat, The Denver Post, Rocky Mountain News, Colorado Springs Gazette, Pueblo Chieftain, Colorado Statesman and many other newspapers.  He has also appeared as a panelist on the public TV show - "Colorado Inside Out," a NAFTA advocate on a PBS affiliate television station, and was a regular commentator on KDEN Radio.

The Colorado DLC is a statewide movement that Governor and DNC Chairman Roy Romer, numerous state legislators, and many more private citizens. Since the early 1990's, the Colorado DLC has sought to become the progressive voice of reform and leading source of policy innovation within the Colorado Democratic Party.  The Colorado DLC promotes the "New Democrat" agenda which rejects New Deal liberalism, promotes equal opportunity but not equal outcomes, and realizes that government cannot solve all of our problems.
